Welcome to the Town of Superior
A small town with big time friendliness!
Just minutes from the largest freshwater lake in the world, the Town of Superior is situated in beautiful northwest Wisconsin.
Our rural community has a population of approximately 2200, and access to an abundance of amenities and activities! You’ll find indoor and outdoor activities, the largest waterfall in the state, community events, and much more!
The Town Hall is located at 4917 S State Road 35, just south of the Nemadji River Bridge. The Fire Hall is located a short distance away just north of Pattison Park, at 5597 S State Road 35, and is home to our volunteer firefighters and emergency responders. Thanks to their dedication, we have one of the best volunteer fire departments in the state! Learn more about our fire department by clicking HERE.
The Town of Superior is part of the Superior School District with both public and private schools, and home to churches of various denominations. Within our town borders, you’ll find a state park, recreational area, automotive services and sales, convenience store and gas station, entertainment establishments, and a public golf course.
In addition, we’re located within close proximity to the Twin Ports cities of Superior, WI and Duluth, MN, offering our residents medical, dental and banking facilities; shopping areas; entertainment; higher education; and many employment opportunities.
The Town is managed by a Board of Supervisors, which consists of an elected chairperson and two elected supervisors. They are assisted by an elected clerk and an appointed treasurer. Elections of Town Officials are held every two years. Instead of a primary election, a caucus is held in January for nominations, and elections take place in April.
Our roads are maintained to high standards by our well-trained staff of heavy equipment operators, who work in coordination with county, state and federal agencies to ensure a safe commute for everyone.
Whether you’re new to our area, or have been a lifelong resident, please check out our FAQ page or contact one of our elected officials, clerk, or treasurer for more information! We look forward to hearing from you!
