PAYMENTS: The Town of Superior will be taking payment for upholstered furniture, mattresses, box springs and hide-a-beds. Payments may be made in cash or by check made out to “Town of Superior.” All other charges will be paid directly to Afterlife Electronics, either by cash or check. Please plan accordingly. SCRAP METAL: Scrap metal can be dropped off free-of-charge during Clean-Up Day and will be donated to the Town of Superior Fire Department for fundraising purposes. Questions? RESOLUTION NO. 2024-03

 

Resolution for Temporary Closure of Old Hwy 23/Fond du Lac Road

 

WHEREAS, Mont du Lac Resort will hold its BowFest event July 25, 2024 through July 28, 2024, and

 

WHEREAS, BowFest draws in an abundance of people with heavy traffic and large recreational vehicles, and

WHEREAS, S Highway 23/Veterans Evergreen Memorial Drive has encountered long traffic backups during past BowFest events and has caused a safety concern for all travelers, and

WHEREAS, back-up traffic could be alleviated by allowing vehicle staging and parking on S Old Hwy 23/Fond du Lac Road during the BowFest event, and

WHEREAS, closure of S Old Hwy 23/Fond du Lac Road to the general public during BowFest 2024 would minimize safety concerns and traffic back-up.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Superior Board hereby authorizes closure of S Old Hwy 23/Fond du Lac Road from E Fond du Lac Road to S Mont du Lac Road (as depicted on the attached map) from the hours of 7 AM – 11 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024 and 7 AM – 11 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an emergency access lane remain open on S Old Hwy 23/Fond du Lac Road during the time of closure for public safety services.

BE IT EVEN FURTHER RESOLVED, that road closure signage and barriers in accordance with MnDOT & WisDOT requirements be placed on both ends of the S Old Hwy 23/Fond du Lac Road closure.
